Starting a new year is like turning a page in a book. As we open the cover of 2021, we wait with anticipation to see what its pages might hold. Many of us are only too happy to see 2020 in our rearview mirror. We look forward to the possibilities of a new, fresh year. So I want to talk about planning 2021 with Google Calendar.

Part of starting fresh is taking time to plan. What are your business and personal goals for the new year? To do this I use Google Calendar. It’s one of my favorite, easy, free planning tools.

The great thing about Google Calendar is that it’s stored online. You can update it from your desktop, your laptop, or your mobile phone. No more worrying about losing your paper planner. Also, you can have multiple calendars (business, personal, team projects, editorial, appointments, training, etc.). In addition, you can select certain calendars to share with team members and family.

Google Calendar Works Great on Your Smartphone too!

I use Google Calendar on my iPhone all the time. You can download the app on your iPhone or Droid and view your calendar from anywhere you are. Makes it easy to plan in the morning while you’re still in bed! And it even works on a plane with no internet connection.

With Google Calendar, it’s easy to:

  • Access your calendar from anywhere in the world
  • Make quick updates
  • Share your calendar with your assistants, your family, or the public.  You get to decide
  • Have multiple calendars for business and personal
  • Set up reminders via email, popup, or text
  • Integrate with many online booking software platforms
  • And the best part is that it’s FREE!

Parting Thoughts on Planning:

Life does not always work out as planned. However, the process of thinking through the next steps in our personal and business life is cathartic. It sets us up to lead a purposeful and intentional life.

Take some time now to plan your 2021. I’ve been using Google Calendar for over 16 years now. Try this free tool in your business (and personal life too). It’ll help you stay more organized and make it easier to collaborate with others. It’ll help you achieve your 2021 goals and plans.
