We just got started with the Fall Home Study Program of the Website Creation Workshop, and I wanted to share with all my subscribers an important technique that I teach called “tabbed browsing” And I have created a short video today for you (4 min long) to visually explain how to use tabbed browsing Just click on the video below to start playing:
How to Do ‘Tabbed Browsing’ with WordPress

Thanks, Christina. Even though this was a strategy I knew about, I didn’t know about the right-click trick for opening in a new tab without having to enter the URL manually.
I’m fortunate to have a large computer screen on my desktop, so I prefer to use the new window and have them side-by side. If I had a smaller screen, I would totally agree with your suggestion to use a new tab instead.
Elizabeth,
Yes I do use the side by side thing as well. It comes in handy when comparing
but I sure do like my tabs
🙂
Thanks again for sharing simple yet dynamic way to blog faster with less effort Keep up the awesome work.
Rosie,
yes all these little productivity tips sure do add up!
Thanks, Christina, Nice video and explanation. I’ve also used tabbed browsing, but it’s always good to check for new tips. For some of us with Macs, we may not have a “right click” option that you mention. So I find the quickest way to make a new tab is the little “+” sign on the tab in the top right hand corner, just next to the tabs already open. This brings me to a “Top Sites” page, which of course, is where the WCW pages are saved. Voilá! The “Command-T” also works just as quickly, as well as the pull-down option for “New Tab” under the File menu at the top, which requires a couple clicks instead of only one. I often get too many tabs open, it’s just so easy! Thanks again and see you in class!
Dave,
you are so right about the “Command-T”! I should have mentioned that in my video.
I, too, have a Mac. An on the newer Mac mice, even though it does not look like it, if you press on the right side, you get a right click. Ask at the Apple store.
See you in Class!
Hi Christina.
Loved your video on the tabbing technique. Simple but very effective! Thanks for sharing.

Lynn,
It’s the little things that add up to make us more productive!
🙂
Thank you Christina, for sharing the information about tabbed browsing. It will definitely make it easier to update my blog.
Suzanne,
yes, it sure does speed things up
I have a blog set up using the 2010 theme, however, when I go to it, it shows a post I made back in 2010. When I go into the admin area, it shows newer posts with more recent dates, but they don’t show on the front page, what is wrong. Thanks!
Sylvia,
These are the kinds of things I help people troubleshoot in my Website Creation Workshop program.
Send me a private email so I can follow up with you. If you don’t have my email address, sign up for my free report, and you will get it. The report is at the top sidebar of this page
Our nonprofit needs a new site and I am convinced that WordPress is the way to go. I receive your emails and have found them to be so helpful. I wish I had signed up for the class! I was waiting for a volunteer for the site creation, but now believe I can do it myself – but much more efficiently and effectively with your assistance. Thank you for sharing your insights.
