During the holidays, one of the fun things you can do with your WordPress website is to add fun plugins that add snow on your site. Well here are 3 WordPress plugins that will let you add snow to your website.
Simply Snow:
This one my favorite of the 3 because of it’s simplicity. There are NO plugin options to think about! You just turn it on and it works! I am using it now here on this website here now during the holidays so you can see how it works. Way fun!
You can find the plugin details on Simply Snow here: www.wordpress.org/plugins/simply-snow/
WP Super Snow:
This Plugin adds pretty snow flakes in varying sizes and shapes to your WordPress site. You can change the speed, size, duration, transparency, etc to really make it custom to your site. You can see it in action here at www.christinahills.com

Snow Storm
This plugin adds tiny little snow balls flying down on your screen. You can set it so the snow can follow your cursor and you can have the snow stick on the bottom of your screen. It’s quite fun!
You can find details about the Snow Storm plugin here: www.wordpress.org/plugins/snow-storm/
I set the background of this site a dark blue so that you could see the snow effect I am using. If you add snow to a site with a white background, it’s a bit hard to see.
Have fun in the snow!
Here is a screenshot of this site with the snow falling down (I had made the background blue (color #191d3a) so you could see it)
Thank you for this cute addition information! Always so practical info from you Christina. Thank you!
Suzanne,
Glad you liked it! (get a gravatar.com account so your picture will show up here. Details on this blog post: https://websitecreationworkshop.com/wordpress-tips/what-is-a-gravatar-picture/
Thanks for the info and the plugin.
Merry Xmas
One more note: if you have the plugin “Jetpack” installed, they added a little check box under settings –> general to turn on snow for the holidays.
If you don’t have jetpack, use one of the plugins above
All three of them are lovely. I’m always a bit cautious about being too “weather relevant” because I have both family and followers in the southern hemisphere, where sunshine and barbecues tend to be more relevant now. Same thing applies when discussing temperatures – are we talking F or C?
F in the USA and C for everyone else 😉
I love Super Snow. It also has other things like Fall leaves, hearts, balloons, or you can add your own. I add hearts to my site for Valentine’s Day, leaves for Thanksgiving. I uploaded some sale images and used those on a page when I had a sale. It can make your webpages fun and interesting.
