The word “E-commerce” is one of those. I don’t think it even existed when I was growing up, but we hear that word all the time now. According to Wikipedia:
Electronic commerce, commonly known as e-commerce or eCommerce, is a type of industry where the buying and selling of products or services is conducted over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks.
So, technically, if you are selling your products/services online, you are an eCommerce merchant, however my definition of an eCommerce website, is a website that is a “Store” kinda like Amazon.
One Theme company, Woo Themes offers both free and premium eCommerce website themes. Here is what their free eCommerce theme called “Wootique” looks like:
If you are thinking about having your own online storefront on your own site, I strongly recommend checking out WooThemes (http://www.christinasresources.com/woothemes) and the WooCommerce theme/plugin
Recently, my great friend and eCommerce expert Lisa Suttora did a presentation to my WCW Club members (the program for folks who already know WordPress), showing us how to easily and quickly create an eCommerce site using WordPress and the WooCommerce eCommerce themes/plugins. I couldn’t believe how quickly she put together a basic, but very nice looking eCommerce site with one of WooThemes’ eCommerce themes during her less-than-30-minute demonstration.
It almost made me want to open up my own online shopping site! So easy and fun.
I think everyone knows about ecommerce, it is the most popular business in the market. It is the site where customer buy number of product online without facing any crowd & difficulties.
